The North Carolina Scholastic Hockey Association (NCSHA) is dedicated to growing high school and scholastic hockey across the state. We provide student-athletes with opportunities to develop their skills, compete at a high level, and experience the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Whether you’re a player, parent, or coach, our league is committed to creating a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for all. At NCSHA, hockey is more than a game it’s a community.

Christian Efird
I founded the Charlotte Icehawks, one of the teams in the North Carolina Scholastic Hockey Association. The league was originally established in 2022 by our previous president, Rich. In 2024, I reached out with a vision to bring high school hockey to North Carolina, and I am proud to say that we’ve made significant progress. By the 2026–27 season, the league will feature three teams, and Rich officially passed the torch to me. Becoming president of both the Charlotte Icehawks and the NCSHA has been a dream come true, and I’m committed to growing high school hockey across the state.
